From June 15th to July 16th, SYL, Women United and Hawaii Cares will be hosting school supply drives for our local homeless keiki’s upcoming school year.
You too can host your own school supply drive within your company!
Simply follow these four steps and be a part of a movement to ensure that all of our keiki have the resources to succeed in the next school year. Thank you so much!
Step 1: Download and print the flyer.
Step 2: Post the flyer in a common area with a box.
Step 3: Fill the box with the most needed school supplies.
Step 4: At the end of the drive, pack up your school supplies and deliver them to Aloha United Way during work hours.
On January 25, 2018, over 60 SYL members and their guests gathered together to go over our accomplishments from 2017 and our plan for 2018. We also came together to provide toiletries for Project Vision, a nonprofit that provides mobile showers for our community’s homeless population.
On January 24, 2018, SYL members and their guests helped Boys and Girls Club with their basketball tournament. We helped the kids with their food booth, so they could raise money for an x-box. We also helped to supervise kids during their basketball tournament.
A small act of kindness can go along way, particularly when it comes to school supplies. We cannot expect students to be successful and meet educational expectations without the tools that they need to succeed. If you are able to do so, please donate school supplies in support of our drive.
Last year we gave over 1500 school supply kits to public school students in need and several non-profits like Partners In Development Foundation, who have a mobile pre-school in Waianae for homeless keiki.
